As part of being a sponsor of the 2009 Inbound Marketing Summit, we have the pleasure of giving away one free ticket to the first event in San Francisco!

Last week on HubSpot TV, we announced that we will hold a competition to win the ticket. In order to enter, all you have to do is the following:
  • Write a blog post about your favorite example of inbound marketing
  • Link to both www.HubSpot.tv and the Inbound Marketing Summit (No need to contact us! We should see the links come in.)
As an example of what we're we're looking for, here's an instance of inbound marketing that is very near and dear to my heart!

My father makes kinetic sculptures that are spring driven and hang on the wall. On his website, he added a blog to help create content and post animations and videos of his work, as well as have more of a conversation with people who follow him online.

A couple weeks ago, he released a new sculpture called Quandary and wrote a blog post about the designing of the sculpture. The post shows the evolution of the design and explains his thoughts as he went through the process. Yesterday, he received a call from someone who had originally seen his work in a gallery in New Orleans 14 years ago. They had found his site through Google, read the post about Quandary on his blog and called to purchase the piece!

I love this example--not only because it’s about my father--but also because the sale was made as a direct result of his great website and blog. Inbound marketing is about creating great content and making it easy for your customers to find you when they are ready to purchase, exactly what he was able to do!

I hope this help inspire you to think about your favorite example and share it with us on your blog! We look forward to hearing about it. Good luck!
