MIT $100K Competition
HubSpot CEO and Co-Founder Brian Halligan will be presenting the keynote speech at this evening's reception for the MIT $100K Entrepreneurship Competition.  The reception, which will honor the competition's semifinalists, will take place at the offices of Brown Rudnick (sponsor) at One Financial Center on the 18th floor at 6 p.m.

An MIT alum, Brian will present the keynote, "Straight Talk," discussing his entrepreneurial success story.  The reception will also include the opportunity for attendees to practice their pitches and receive valuable feedback from VCs in a 5-minute "Speed Meeting," which will feature representatives from .406 Ventures, Atlas Venture, Castile Ventures, Flybridge Capital Partners, GrandBanks Capital, Highland Capital Partners and Spark Capital.

The MIT $100K Competition is a year-long educational experience designed to encourage students and researchers in the MIT community to act on their talent, ideas and energy to produce tomorrow's leading firms.

Today's competition is the nation's premier business plan competition, with three separate contests, each focused on different skill sets: Elevator Pitch Contest, Executive Summary Contest, and finally, the Business Plan Contest.  There are six distinct tracks, allowing students to concentrate on their specific areas, while learning how to turn their ideas into companies.
