The Videographer Award winners have been announced, and HubSpot has won not one, but two Awards of Excellence! HubSpot TV is a "Video for Web/Podcast" new media category winner and "You Oughta Know Inbound Marketing" is a winner in the "Video for the Web/Viral" new media category.
HubSpot TV is HubSpot's weekly Internet marketing video podcast. The news-style show features co-hosts, Mike Volpe (VP Inbound Marketing) and Karen Rubin (Product Owner) -- and sometimes special marketing guests -- chatting about the latest marketing news, trends and tips.
"You Oughta Know Inbound Marketing" was written, produced and directed by HubSpot's singing inbound marketer, Rebecca Corliss, to the tune of Alanis Morissette's 90's hit song, "Oughta Know." The video features a disgruntled office employee (played by Rebecca) who sings her heart out about the horrible life of an outbound marketer. View the song's full lyrics here.
The Videographer Awards is an international competition that recognizes outstanding achievement in video productions. The 2009 competition attracted approximately 1,800 entries from throughout the United States and several other countries. Winners of the 166 categories range from network news operations to local cable access, from large production companies to freelancers, and from international advertising agencies to student producers. The Award of Excellence was awarded to projects that judges deemed were written, produced, shot and/or edited in an exceptional manner.
