Yesterday writer and blogger Scott Kirsner came up with a list of new marketing books written by Boston thought leaders. "Beantown, it turns out, is a hub of activity related to new approaches to marketing," he wrote.

book list

Scott's list includes 21 books ordered by release date. The titles cover a wide range of topics such as content creation in the digital age, video blogging for business and socialnomics. "Call it 'social media marketing,' 'inbound marketing,' or just 'new marketing,'" Scott wrote, "but the home of the Red Sox, 'Cheers,' and Paul Revere is also home to some revolutionary thinking about the changing relationship between companies and their customers."

The first book on the list is Inbound Marketing: Get Found Using Google, Social Media, and Blogs written by HubSpot's co-founders Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shah. Though not yet released, the title can be pre-ordered on Amazon.com. Among the other books on the list are Me 2.0 by Dan Schawbel and World Wide Rave by David Meerman Scott.
