MIT Announces Halligan and Shah as Entrepreneurs-In-Residence

The MIT Entrepreneurship Center (E-Center) recently announced HubSpot founders Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shah are members of the inaugural group of MIT Entrepreneurs-In-Residence (EIRs), a part-time interactive engagement by working entrepreneurs who serve to nurture and support MIT students in the process of starting companies.  EIRs will be available to students throughout the semester.

Brian and Dharmesh will provide students with valuable insights into the rapidly changing world of inbound marketing.  They will also offer advice on how to start a company right out of MIT as they did and will advise students in their primary expertise, entrepreneurial marketing.

Brian and Dharmesh join four other working entrepreneurs as EIRs, each specializing in a specific area of expertise:

1. Susan Whoriskey, (Cubist Pharmaceuticals, Momenta Pharmaceuticals, Whoriskey Associates)  Primary Expertise: Life Sciences
2. Jean Hammond, (AXON Networks, Quarry Technologies, Spider Systems, ZipCar, HubAngels) Primary Expertise: Information Technology
   
3. Simeon Simeonov, (Fast Ignite, Inc.) Primary Expertise: Web 2.0
4. Roger Freeman, (Solventera Energy) Primary Expertise: Clean Energy

Students from all MIT schools at all stages of company formation (from idea to revenue generation) are welcome to take advantage of the resources offered by the EIR program.  They can schedule appointments with Entrepreneurs-In-Residence via an online booking system, scheduled to be up and running in the coming weeks.

The MIT E‐Center offers an environment to educate, nurture, network and celebrate MIT entrepreneurship.  The Center helps MIT students at all stages of the start-up process, from inspiration or technological breakthrough to business planning, in achieving the capabilities, confidence and network needed to achieve escape velocity from MIT and build a successful innovation‐base venture.
