We're looking forward to kicking off the first of meetings for the Boston Hadoop User Group in the Brogan game room at HubSpot HQ on Wednesday, October 28 at 7 p.m.
What is Hadoop?
Hadoop is a Java software framework by The Apache Software Foundation that supports data intensive distributed applications. The Apache Hadoop project develops open-source software for reliable, scalable, distributed computing.
Back to the event...
If you're a developer using Hadoop, or you're just someone who would like to learn more about it and other technologies built with/on top of Hadoop such as Hive, Pig, HBase, etc., we'd love to see you there!
We'll have a couple of short presentations, including one by Elias Torres, who will discuss using Hadoop with Project Voldemort, a distributed key-value storage system (more at http://hub.tm/?hgVsq). And we'll be washing it all down with some yummy pizza and beer!
If you're interested in schmoozing and chatting with some other tech geeks, register to attend at http://www.meetup.com/bostonhadoop.
