HubSpot is excited to announce that we have been named a winner of the annual Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Awards, a list of the Best Places to Work in 2019. The Employees’ Choice Awards program, now in its 11th year, is based on the feedback our employees have voluntarily and anonymously shared on Glassdoor about their jobs, the workplace, and HubSpot as a company. To determine the winners of the awards, Glassdoor evaluates all company reviews shared by employees over the past year. These reviews rate their satisfaction with the company overall, and key workplace factors like career opportunities, compensation and benefits, culture and values, senior management and work/life balance.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to all our employees who took the time to share their perspective on what it’s like to work at HubSpot. We appreciate the valuable feedback as it only helps us improve our culture as we grow better together.

HubSpot’s Co-founder and CTO, Dharmesh Shah, is active on Glassdoor, reading employee feedback and using that feedback to evolve HubSpot’s Culture Code each year.

Of the award, Shah says, “At HubSpot, we believe that culture is the product we build for our employees. We think of every person who works at HubSpot as a customer of our culture. Just like you wouldn’t build a product without getting feedback from customers, we constantly seek feedback from employees at HubSpot -- and transparently discuss how we are use that feedback to create a better, more inclusive workplace. And, just like a product is never “done” -- a culture is never “done”. We are constantly trying to improve it. Being named a Best Place to Work by Glassdoor is a sign that we might be on the right track. My thanks to all the amazing people at HubSpot who both build our culture -- and live it every day. It is an honor to work with you.”

Employee review sites like Glassdoor are an important piece of creating a positive candidate experience. Candidates today not only want to hear authentic feedback from employees, they expect it. Our employees’ reviews give candidates that transparency they’re looking for, and hopefully help them throughout the recruiting process.

“In today’s tight labor market, job seekers are in the driver’s seat when it comes to deciding where to work and they want to know the inner workings of a company before accepting a new job. To help people find the best jobs and the best companies, the Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Awards recognize employers at the top of their game,” said Dr. Andrew Chamberlain, Glassdoor Chief Economist. “For employers, we know that a satisfied and engaged workforce helps drive financial performance. Glassdoor Best Places to Work winners are strategically investing in company culture, career growth opportunities and more, which also serves as a major recruiting advantage.”

One slide in HubSpot’s Culture Code states that we obsess about culture. And, we do. Because we want to create an environment where employees love coming into work every day and can be who they are outside of the office, at the office. We embrace individuality and understand that every employee looks, thinks, works, and learns differently. That’s why we have perks such as flexible work hours, unlimited vacation time, a free books program, and generous tuition reimbursement to give employees the freedom to work and learn in whatever way works best for them.

One employee review shared on Glassdoor is titled “Excellent place to work with great growth opportunities” and says: “The defining aspect of HubSpot is the culture. The entire organization is welcoming, and I have never seen a company that runs as well as this one. You are genuinely looked after by all members of your team.”

HubSpotters, thank you for your constant feedback as we continue to learn and grow as a company. We are excited to head into 2019 with fresh ideas, events, and programs to continue making HubSpot a great place to work for all.
