Two updates that improve the agency directory

Written by Tim Dearlove | May 31, 2018 2:30:00 PM

When we launched the new directory at the end of February, we had to change some features based on the new supporting infrastructure. Today we have two updates that restore some of those features and makes the directory more user-friendly.

With the help of our HubDB product team, we are excited to announce:

  • We added two more filters; Budget and Language
  • We now support multi-filter selections

Budget and Languages

Adding the budget filter will help users search for agencies that fit their price range. Allowing visitors to filter down based on budget criteria will help make sure we match the right types of clients and agencies together. Prospective clients don’t want to spend time explaining what they need to an agency only to realize they cannot afford that agency’s pricing. Likewise, agencies don’t want to spend time working leads that don’t want to pay their rates.

We want to update the budget field and make it more flexible based on how agencies price their services in the future. For the time being, promoting the current budget filter helps set expectations with new prospects on price.

The language filter will better support our efforts to make the directory more usable for non-English speaking visitors. Adding the language filter is the first phase to localize the directory for different regions. More on that work soon.

Now is a good time to check your directory settings and make sure you have updated your language preferences section.

Multi-Filter Selections

We want to empower directory visitors who have a set of criteria to find the right agency. Now a visitor can select one option for each filter and results will narrow down based on each selection. For example, a visitor can search for an agency that works with a specific industry, in a specific location and that is low cost.

A new page still loads when a visitor selects each filter. We made some minor tweaks to improve that experience, but we will eventually create a search button that a visitor will select once they have selected as many filters as they want. Until that point, we hope this change makes it easier for visitors to find the right agency.

We are excited about these updates, but we know we have more work to do. We have been working on feature updates to the directory since we launched it in February and have a whole host of updates planned for the remainder of the year. Please check out some of the new pages we have designed to better answer questions and provide information on the future of the directory.
